WHY did this site have to change. I liked the old registration better (mainly because you didn't have to pay to register) What's up with the fee all of a sudden. I guess I'll just keep using the same name but I don't think I'm gonna pay to keep registered and to have a password. WHY NOW!!

Come on guys ... get with the program here.
When either of you can start a website like this one, maintain it, AND pay your ISP outrageous fees for bandwidth, THEN you can complain about a measly $30 it costs to become a member. Have either of you filled your gas tanks lately? Hmmmmm...$30 is a small price to pay to get easy access to answers to your questions about performance & cosmetic mods ... as well as just shoot the $h!t about truck stuff.

If you like the "old" website better, get off your butts and create one ... then YOU can pay for the upkeep.

'Nuff said.

I can see why this is happening, I know how much Mark is in debt. So I'm I, now that I'm quitting my job I can hardly afford things like a full tank of gas (at $1.94 for regular), insurance bills, and cell phone bills, etc. etc. The reason why I quit my job is because I'm a senior in high school and graduation is a month from now, my head manager wouldn't let me take off for my own graduation. So I told him to take this job and shove it up his a$$. I will register after my graduation when I get a new good paying job. Sorry Mark, give me some time. I'm sure you can relate.

I can sympathize with the cost of running a great site like this but the benefit of the internet is supposed to be that it is free (or close to free). This is a great site and perhaps could be worth $30 to become a member. However this is not the only site of it's kind that I subscribe to, There's the F150 page I read daily (I have a '98 F150 too). There's Dirtrider.net that I read a dozen times a day for my offroad stuff, there are work related sites I go to daily. If they all charged membership fees it would get ridiculous. I'm all for raising money by selling shirts, hats, stickers, etc., but a membership fee is a bit much IMO.

I gotta agree silver bullet, it seems like ever site on the net is asking for 19.95 or 30 bucks to join up and get all the access you want, IGN.com a big site for video games and the like is now charging to read some of the articles on the site...it's like you said every site wants a membership, sure 30 bucks doesn't seem that bad but 30 bucks for 5 sites ads up quick...the internet isn't as fun as it used to be.

Has anyone noticed that the membership fee is an ANNUAL fee. That means its only a 1 time a year cost. $30 over 12 months is $2.50 a month. Now that is a lot to complain about!

Even though i am an avid carnut AND dakota owner (318 reg cab sport), i do not come to this board and care not on my first visit here to see nothing but bitching and whining. Please correct your email address or at least do not use mine.

For those of you interested, i am the owner of the Dakota, and also a Blown small block chevy powered 1923 T roadster, and am in the process of building a blown, injected, strocked small block ford powered FFR Cobra Replica.

Unfortunatly, i am sorry i had to meet everyone here under these circumstances.

Ok guy I was going to saty out of this but I will try to explain some things. If you look at the big picture here its not that much. If you Join Both Dakota USA (A naional Dakota Club) and Dodgedakotas.com its only 45.00 a year and with the savings on parts and the information you get its nothing. You can save more than the membership on you first buy. Dakota USA membes get discounts on almost anything you could want for you truck plus you will belong to a National Club. Check out the site at http://www.dakotausa.com almost everyone that has joined so far has saved more than the membership on parts. It is worth it.

Ok - I'm getting kinda fed up with this stuff. I originally joined this site because I noticed that there where people that actually knew what they were talking about. I saw a few questions that I knew the answer to so I answered them. The majority of the people on this site are very nice. I am also at a point where I can not afford to buy any kind of membership. The one thing I HATE about this whole deal is the people that think they are advertising for Mark by saying "Become a member" or anything else like that. I think the advertising should be left to Mark. Stay out of everyones business. Maybe people have been through some really tough times that they dont wanna talk about. Leave them alone. They will become members when they can afford it or are ready. There is no need for crap like "I bet its just a bunch of 17 yr old kids that dont know the value of a dollar" If I don't become a member it will be because of people like you. I'm just tired of asking a question or suggesting something a getting a reply like "you should become a member". Mark, keep up the good work. Chris, it was nice talking with you the other day. I got my fender flares today. $129 tax and all.

If ya don't wanna join ... don't. Nobody's "advertising" for Mark. His site speaks for itself. If you don't care if it's around tomorrow, don't contribute. If you do care if it's around tomorrow, do contribute.

You're sick of the members sticking up for the site and the members (supporters) are sick of the people bitchin' cuz they have to type their name in when they post a questions. BIG DEAL. If you don't join you can still post questions, read replies, look at pics....whatever.

And if I offended anyone with my "17 year olds" comment ... sorry. That's my opinion. You don't have to agree with it.

Let it be. I won't bother addressing any more posts whining about the membership fees. Sheeesh.

All I did was post a message to voice my opinion. I never meant for it to turn into a battle ground to see who wants to pay or not. I didn't know that the $30.00 was a yearly fee, I thought it was monthly.
