You only need two quarts to change the fluid
so you can return two of the four you bought.

You can use any 5w-30 motor oil in the
NV-3500. That said, I've tried Redline MTL,
Amsoil HDD 5W-30 and the recommended
Mopar fluid.

In MY NV-3500 the Mopar stuff does the best
job of quieting wierd noises when cold, and
allowing me to downshift easier.

The Redline upshifts first to second a bit
better when it's below freezing but makes
more wierd noises when cold and didn't
downshift as well for me.

The Amsoil made wierd noises when cold
and didn't upshift or downshift any better than
the Mopar fluid.

I'm pretty sure I'll get flamed for this, but I'd
stay with the Mopar stuff.

My trucks only got 8,500 miles on it and it
seemed like I was changing from one to the
next every week or so this last winter.

I also figure it's better to have the Mopar fluid
in it when the tranny grenades.....

Hope this helps,

The service tech said the NV 3500 held 3 7/8 qts.

That crap is expensive.

mjhipp,

The service tech is wrong. You couldn't get
four quarts in the thing if the truck was laying
on the drivers side door!

In fact, I have to jack up the right side of my
truck a bit in order to get a full two quarts in it
before it starts running out the fill plug on the
side of the transmission.

Don't feel bad, it cost me $25 for two quarts.

Later,
Lemmers

I know the database showed two different transmissions for 01' depending on the VIN#.

But that's F%^ked up that they ripped me for 4 qts.
