 Subject: 360 5-speed dak

recently i came across a nv3550 tranny out of a 96 ram 4x2. my question is, does anyone know if this tranny will fit in my 97 dak?it is an automatic right now but converting the pedals and cutting a hole through the floor board ain't s**t. is this trans too big for my floor pan or what? and does anyone out there have a V8 5-speed dak?if not and i'm the first i'll definately post how to's.

the NV3500 will fit no problem. you just need to get a balanced flywheel, because the 360 is externaly balanced, while the 318 is internaly balanced.
do a search under 360 5 speed, or something like that, and you shold see several threads on the subject from others that have done the swap

I have a v8, 5spd manual dak, it's a 2001 4.7!

the auto-envy boys will tell you things like 'it can't handle the torque', course if it's a S/C or Turbo v8, then it seems top be OK.
