on the lot. Made a solid, yet low offer on the
truck and they took it. There was hardly
anybody at the dealership, and it was on their
late night.
I got a Graphite QC 4x4 4.7L Dak, fairly loaded
(tow package, overhead power group, stereo
w/tape and CD, 6 infinity speaker system, HD
service group... and more) at a great price.
I heartily encourage any tire-kickers or
anybody who wants a new truck to go in and
make an offer. I doubt they'll turn you down.

If you paid around 22k for a quad cab 4x4 v-8 then you got an incredible deal. Since they sticker like 27 or did last year when I bought mine.

I got my 2003 QC 4x4 for 23. It had a sticker of 29+.
4.7L auto Sport Plus (26C)
Anti-Spin Diff, Overhead power conv group, leather wheel, power heated mirrors, bed liner, cloth buckets, Heavy Duty service group, Trailer tow group, P265/70R16 OWL tires.

How the !@#% did you get 6 large off the bill?
Is that including trade in and downpayment or
something?
Mine stickered at 30 even. I dealt it down to 27,
then got $3000 more off for financing it, then
got $3000 for my trade in ('02 quad cab V6), so
I got it down to $21,000 financed. The 4.25%
financing with $3000 off made for less of a
payment over 5 years than taking the 0% with
no money off.
That's a pretty sweet deal if you ask me.

By the way, the 4.7 with the 5 spd trans is SO
much smoother than the other truck. I am way
impressed with how this truck drives
compared to my old 3.9 QC...
Think I'll get 300 miles to the tank with the 4.7?
That's all I ask of the thing. It's all I got with the
3.9.

I think you can squeeze 300 to teh tank. I used to get 330 with my 2wd and as of today I got 265 on my fresh 4x4 cc with teh 5-speed and 3.90 gears... I think that will improve as well...

Not sure how I got it. I was looking for a new 4x4, so I went to the dealerships and they wanted $29k for the truck. I bargined with some of them but since I knew about the 3k rebate, I knew most of them were trying to screw me. I think the lowest price I could bargin for was 25k or something like that. So I emailed a bunch of places, and the one I got emailed me the 23k price. Turns out it had been on the lot for almost 5 months, and had 130 test drive miles on it. Then I thought I wouldn't get anything for my trade in, but they gave me 1k for it too. It was a 86 4x4 Ramcharger, that was having a lot of problems. In fact, it wouldn't start after I drove it to pick up the Dakota. I am pretty happy with the deal I got. My only complaints about the truck are I high centered it once, and the shifts are kind of crappy.
