Well my new truck finally arrived... I ordered it on 2/22 and it was entered on 2/24.. It came in on 4/7 and I am VERY happy so far. It is a 2003 CC 4x4 4.7 5-speed sport plus. However the "mini overhead console" is just a piece of plastic with dome lights and a clip... This is a sport plus I expected at least the compass and temperature (the temp sensor is there by the pass headlight)... should it have come with this or no?

I have a 2002 Sport Plus, also with the mini console. It is as you described, with a fold down storage door that reveals a small space to keep your sunglasses, garage door opener, whatever. I believe that the compass and temp indicator are part of another option package.

It's the "Power Overhead Convenience" group that you needed to order ($275). It's bogus that the sales man/woman didn't make it clear to you that this was what you were wanting before you didn't order it.
It includes the overhead console, 3 universal garage door openers, and my favorite - an autodimming rear-view mirror. I didn't realize how cool this was until I got accustomed to it and then drove my wife's car that doesn't have such a goodie.

Congrats!
The sport plus, sounds good, but it's actually the lower in quality than the SLT. It does have different trim like the bumper covers and such, and the 5spd, way to go, none of this auto crap.
It's hilarious when people post their cop out phrases like 'oh, it's no good in traffic'-BS, they're just deep down sorry and they're trying to justify why they didn't get a real transmission in their 4.7. With a v8, and a mnaual, you shift alot less than an auto would in traffic. I test drove a 4.7 auto before I ordered my truck, and had to listen to the slime ball salesman try and talk me out of wanting a manual. I felt like hitting him, he wouldn't stop, with things like, 'oh the resale will be lower', etc. F&^k you, I didn't by my dak to SELL it, you a-hole.
sorry for the rant, and I"m sure alot of people like theri autos, good.

Well this is actually my replacement truck. I traded in my 2000 4.7 5-speed as i wanted to go from 2wd to 4wd... so really no surprises at all besides the overhead console. I looked and the wiring is not there is there a way to order the computer and wiring from the dealer or should I source junkyards? THe temperature probe by the pass healight is there so I was hoing to see wiring under the console, no such luck.
