i want to trade my RC 2.5l in for a CC 3.9 liter, i found this one on autorader. Its a 2002 CC 3.9 liter sport base with 14k miles. They have an internet price of $14,786. I got a MP3 player that wokrs on tape decks so i don't need a cd player (i don't care about haveing a good car stereo), i don't need the power locks and windows (kinda got used to it in the 2.5l). What do you guys think? About how much more would insurance be if i am 19 and have a clean record?

For a couple grand more you can get a new one with the 4.7 V-8 or a used R/T.

Price sound kinda high.

Sticker on my 'o2 Sport reg cab, V-8, auto, air, CD was 16,500 give or take a couple hundred.

sounds high to me. My 98 3.9 was only 15k brand new. It was only a rc but still.

I would say that is high, i picked up my New datoka (back in 1999) with 3 miles on it and every option (except the V8) and paid 15,170 out the door including taxes and title and all that good stuff.

Research Kelly blue book value on anything you are looking at ( www.kbb.com, I think). Check trade in and retail values for truck and try to bargain somewhere in between. Dakotas loose a lot of value fast when new, that sounds way too high.

the cost of insurance for a 4.7/5.9 is much higher for a 19 year old then a 3.9 is, at his age if income is low it might be a factor in his descision. I have seen many 3.9's go more then 150,000 miles without major problems, so I really do-not understand you guys telling him "don't do it". So he can't run 90+ in the quarter, so what!

I would check around some I got my 2003 CC SXT W/auto for 16,500 including an extended warrenty in Jan and I think the rebates are higher now .The dealers are having a hard time selling any new cars(at least here in Fl) so there are some deals around. No idea on the insurance
