Subject: Headlights go out!
IP: Logged

Message:
Hi All! Has anyone ever experienced their Dak's headlights (marker lights not affected) just blacking out for no reason. I mean they just turn off! I have played with the multi-function switch, and the headlight dimmer switch. While doing this, sometimes they come back on, sometimes they don't. Am I alone? I have encountered most of the "traditional" Dak problems (bad brakes, darn squeeky suspension, and bushing problems), but none has bothered me
like this one. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!

I have had that same problem. My lowbeams wouldn't work but my highbeams did. Then neither would work. I sprayed some electircal contact cleaner in the multifunction switch and worked the dimmer from high to low beam. This worked for a while then they started to do it again. I thinkt that a little squirt of the contact cleaner once a month will solve the problem if you don't want to buy a new stalk and switch.

i dont know if this applies to your truck, but check the Central Timer Module if you have one. i know the 02 and 03 daks have them and there is a recall for the 03's to have the CTM replaced. just my .02.

i had the same problem, really bad when you're driving home drunk on a friday night and your headlights keep going off and on.mine was just the headlight switch, it is a pretty cut and dry system.i think it was only $30.00. real easy fix.

Thank you all very much! I shall try the squirting first as that's the cheapest! I'll write again if I get 'em working right! Thanks again!
