Well I just wanted to say good by, I hardly ever posted, a few times. I traded my 2000 4.7 regular cab for a 03 three Lightning. The deal I got by being a friend of a Ford employee was incredible, $28,900 with 0% financing! I was looking at a regular cab Hemi Ram but the best I could get was $26,000 after rebates for a fully loaded model. Plus the Ford dealer gave me $1,000 more for my 4.7, they gave me the blue book trade in value. The Dodge dealer was acting like the Ram was gold and didn't want to deal, oh well I'm happy with my deal.
Take care guys, I just got tired of modding, just wasn't working for me. Later guys.

something smells fishy. all of this lightening/kota fighting and suddenly there is a post of a kota driver switching to a Ford. plus i don't think ford workers can give the discount to "friends." now i may be wrong. if i am, i'm sorry. but it just smells fishy.

Yes they will... I was looking at a Cobra and they said if I qualify they can do anything... the L isn't that special anymore, they will deal on them just like any other truck.

That is a DERN good price too (X-Plan?)...I would have jumped on it too. hehehe
My next vehicle will be the Cobra. There is a Sonic Blue 03 up the road I drool over, when I pass by.
You must have been sinking your mods in the wrong place on the Dakota. Add the blower like the Lightning, and you're going places. Then you have TB, cams, intake, etc...
With just the Paxton kit on my 4.7, no other mods(except a flowbastad muffler) the truck is putting down 304RWHP and 351RWTQ. Very close to the 99 "L". Tuneability right now on the 4.7's is the only real big hold-up. Whereas the "L" has a lot of options. Diablo, Unichip, etc..
If they would have offered the Ferd with a manual tranny, I would have gotten one a long time ago.
