How do you remove the door panels to access the speakers. I'm having difficulty with the window cranks. (I don't have power windows).

Any ideas?

Thanks!

If I'm right there should be a little type of carter pin behind the base of the crank where it meets the panel. Just pry the two ends apart and it should pop off. Look and Crutchfield, I know they have stereo install tools and they have a tool to do this with. If you do it right you could be able to pry off with a screwdriver and needle nose pliers. Hope you can understand this and make it happen.

Actually the clip in question is shaped more like a "U". Take a small screwdriver and pry out the washer behind the window crank to see the position of the clip. Then take a sock or other piece of cloth and press against the open side of the clip while using a slight sawing motion. Works everytime. Just be careful because the clip will come flying off.

To put it back on some patience, a small screwdriver and some really small needle nose pliers are helpful.

Oh, once you have the window crank off and all the screws out, lift the door panel about 1". there are "L" shaped clips on the back which need to be disengaged before you have room to disconnect the door handle.

The door handle clip is a piece of cake compared to the wndow crank.

Don't forget about the torx head screw behind the interior door handle ;-)

Jstanglovr,

Follow Chuck's advice for everything. I found it might be easier to put the window cranks back on by first installing the clips on the window crank and then it pushing on to the shaft. Have fun.
