Today i stopped at a red light and this older guy in a (id say late 80's) vette pulled up next to me nodding his head at me. so i said what the hell, i destroyed him off the line and in the long run. he musta had a bogged out 350. But, last week i raced my friend in his stock 2000 tahoe, rolling at about 50 and he beat me. was pretty embarrassing.

u lie cuase i have a vett and a dakota and there is no way in hell that a dakota could ever beat a vett. i have a 1985 corvette and a 99 dakota and there is no way in hell that it would even come close to beating it.

so because you had a 85 vette and it is faster than your 99 dakota, there is no way that any other dakota is faster than any other vette?
btw, i have beat one vette, three f-bodies, and a couple of cobras with my V6 dakota... call me a liar all you want but all that matters to me is that i know the truth.

I would like to know what year truck you have and what mods you have in it, not saying your a liar because i have seen daks that will take a vette but, unless the guy you raced was out of gas you better have some serious mods, otherwise get prepared for the people on here to rip you.

Dan P, Good Kill, People think that just because the cars name is corvette nothing can beat it. I've ridden in an early 80's corvette with the bogged down 350 motor, and i'd have to say that my 97 5.2L 5spd, with a few mods, pulled a hell of a lot harder than that thing did.
I looked at your pics, nice truck, you got any pics of your roll pan with exhaust? is it coming through the roll Pan? I'm thinking of getting a roll pan with exhaust exiting through it, but need to see a couple before i do it becasuse I don't want to be disappointed about taking the exhaust that i have now off,becasue i like where my exhaust exits now (Behind each rear wheel). any answers will be helpful.

im not saying that nothing could beat my vett. i know full well a dodge viper could beat my vet and a tone of other cars could but i know that dodge dakota couldnt. and i know with the mods he has he couldnt

I have a 02 dak 4.7 5-speed, my friend has an 80,000 mi 80something vette with a 350, I can beat him everytime.

i do have some pics of rollpan, the exhaust isnt coming through the roll pan, email me and ill reply. i think the tips are 3.5". and adam is ignorant, hes one of those guys that bought a beat up old vette and bragged to everyone that he has one. the fact is that i beat the guy and it wasnt an accident, the guy just probably had a weak engine. didnt post it to hear idiot comments, was just the truth.

Maybe Adam missed the part about your truck having nitrous on it.
Heck, I had a stock 1990 300ZX non-turbo that ran faster 1/4 mile times than a 1987 Corvette because I went up against one at a sanctioned event in 1992. It's not the owner's faults those cars were slow. Now, the newer C5 models? Fuggettaboutit!

its a custom setup that i made... Made a header for one side and a crossover pipe. Using a TB0301 turbo off of a buick regal. Runs like crap right now... blown head gasket. Probably gonna sell all the parts and just put my truck back on nitrous

You are right on that some of the older vettes had pretty weak motors. The c5 is a diffent story
The ls1 or ls6 motor is stout and the c5 weights atleast 1000 lbs less. It would take a heavily modded 5.9 to compete. I know...i gottem both.

I own a 4.7 Dak CC and a 90 vette, both automatics. The Dakota feels quicker off the line, but also has 3.55's while the vette, even with a performance axle option for that year only had 2.73's. At freeway speeds, it's a different story, the Dak is no match. My vette is only rated at 240 HP stock, but also has 350 ft/lbs of torque. Of course, vettes weigh a lot less than a Dakota. Got to admit, a lot of mid 80's vettes are getting pretty tired. My vette runs 14.2 in the quarter, and I have never run the Dakota on the track.
