Subject: I hear a squeeky squeek

OK, here's what I'm hearing...

When I first drive my truck in the AM, I hear this squeek in the front end when I go over a speed bump that's in my parking lot. And I hear it again with every bump I hit. But once I get half way to work, I don't hit any more bumps or speedbumps to tell if it's still squeeking. And it doesn't squeek in the afternoon.

I'm not sure if it's weather related or what. The temperature has been warmer as of late...around 50 at 6:30am. So I'm not sure if the warmer weather is having an effect on some bushings or what. Thanks in advance for any help.

Steve-o-reeno,

I dunno, you might try simply spraying some lub in the sway bar/bushing interface. I'd use a lube that's not really a solvent. The solvent lubes don't stay around long. They make the white lithium grease in a spray can with the little hose.

Wouldn't be expensive, or time consuming, and would help you rule-out the cause.

Good luck,
Todd

I would say to lube the front sway bar, it has rubber bushings that are prone to squeeking.
Don't use a spray lube like wd-4d but use lithium greese or axle greese.
My aftermarket Hotchkis bars came with new fittings that have zerts making this job easier.
In the fAQ section of the instructions it lists this as a cause and resolution.
good luck
