does anyone know if any RAMs had a 8 1/4 rearend that you could get used 3.92s from, if so what year

I have been looking into changing my gears out as well, and thought about used parts to save some moeny at fist also.
I have found that the labor is going to cost more than the hardware.
I have also found that Randy's ring and pinion has very reasonable prices on parts needed for the changge.
If you want to save more than that you can take a chance on ebay with used gears or generic gears that are being sold there.
I dont know how much the gears wear together in a rearend but on a motorcycle it is important to change your chain and sprocket together to prolong life.
they wear together and if you change one and not the other you risk wearing the parts out much faster.
If you are set on used parts go for it.
my $.02 says spend a little extra now and do it right the first time.
(I have a 4x4 and it will cost me a little over $1000 to do the change with parts and labor.)
