 Subject: DIS on the 4.7

Do the coils on the 4.7 go bad ? How do you
know if they go bad and where can you get
new ones. I ask this because the last time I
change my plugs some of the coils looked
burned on the rubber bottom. How much do
they cost ???

If the coil goes bad that particular plug will not spark. That's all I can answer.

It will also throw a "check engine" code on the dash board. All of mine have a toasty-brown look around the base of them. Until the check engine light comes on, you are firing on all 8 cylinders.
