 Subject: swapping out an engine

A'ight, I've been given a straight 4 cyl. 96 dak. My question is, how much of a pain in neck would it be to change out this engine with a v-6 or v-8. Will the tranny have problems matching up? And any estamites on cost, just a ball park figure. Thanks

Pulled a 440 out of a charger a long time ago, and put it in a way different vehicle. Was a real circus, 'cause the engine controls/electronics were all different, and the motor was so heavy it bent the arm of the crane we used to pull it with, and the flex plate didn't match up at all. Front suspension was riding on the rubber stops, so no suspension travel left. Oh yeah, forgot a couple of gaskets, too. The first test ride around the block covered the windshield with steam and oil spray. Was a hilarious couple of weeks, though.
