Has anybody else used Wax as-u-dry? I live in
So Cal and have not used water to wash my
truck in over a year, I sh#t you not! I cant
believe the depth and gloss of my paint,
people are always complementing me on the
shine. You can use it wet or dry, TRY it!

I just use my duster first, than use the Wax
as-u -dry on everything, R/T wheels(painted),
windows, trim, everything.

I am not affiliated with Valvoline in any way,
just very happy with this product.

I couldn't imagine using a wash that didn't use water. I can't even dry my truck after washing it without leaving light scuffs in the paint, let alone no water at all. Does it seem like that paint on the Dakotas suck? I've never had softer paint on any of my previous cars.

My Dak is Bright White and is damn near flawless. Agian I live in the L.A. area and I know you "real" weather guys have some serious shmaegma going on.

eLIXIR... Maybe your truck is in more of a need to be waxed than you realize, because drying your truck should certainly not leave ANY marks.

I use wax-as-u-dry every week, but every 2-3 months it gets a clay bar, and a "real" waxing.

Yea man I agree, Wax as u dry is good. Only, I did try it once dry. Didn't turn out too great, so, lol, I misted some more water on the truck to use it. Ne way, to dry mine off, I like to use the absorber, cuts down on tons of towels. Then afterwards I like to use Eagle One Wipe and Shine, or Mequiar's Quick Detail or Quick Wax. Both work great. But inorder for both of them to do good, you have to have a good wax on the vehicle, thats what the stuff absorbs into mostly. At least 3-4 times a year I put mine through my own 4 step process.
1. Cleaner Wax (Mequiars Cleaner Wax)
2. Scratch Remover (Scratch-X)
3. Polish (Mequiars, or the Color Match Turtle Wax Polish, worked good on my Bright White)
4. Carnuaba Wax (Turtle Wax Paste, it seals Everything in)

Darryl - I've never tried the Eagle One product you mentioned, but I think I will.

A product I've used with good success over the years is Meguiars Cleaner Wax for clearcoats (very light application); Mother's Pure Carnuba; applied and removed with a buffer (changing the buffer cloth to a clean one often); and then a light application of The Wax Shop swirl remover. It always comes out great.

BigDak97's waxing routine is no doubt a good one.
