Big D, I have the same questions as Rob 454. I've been thinking of going to aftermarket rotors on my DAK when it's time for new brakes - and that would be fairly soon.

BTW, what disc pads did you use with the new rotors? The factory pads throw off so much dust it"s difficult to see the wheels. LOL. I hear they make pads that not only work much better than those from the factory, but produce far less dust, as well.

They list for like $196 each but I was able to get them for $98 each, and then the pads were another $30 or so.

As for the stopping power, it's definitly a lot better. There is definitly a noticeable amout more braking power than there used to be.

Why did I do it? because the factory rotor's suck. They began to really squeal at about 12K miles if not before and I just finally got tired of it.

you can find a picture of the pads here

Any reason you used crossdrilled rotors? For general driving applications, they wouldn't be as effective in stopping since they actually lose surface area when they were drilled. Swept rotors might have been a better overall application. I bet the drilled ones keep the wheels cleaner (so do the swept ones). Let me know in about 5000 miles how they look and are wearing.

I need to install new rotors/pads also. Where can I get a good set of pads and rotors? I don't want/need the drilled rotors. Thanks.

Check any local auto parts store. I am sure that they will have several differnt choices to chose from. And most will be better than stock anyway.
