Subject: FIPK missing parts
IP: Logged

Message:
I just recieved my FIPK kit from Summit and
after I started putting it on I relized it didn't have
the nuts and bolts that it should have come
with. I had some lying around that I could use
so after getting it put together and ready to put
the filter on it was the wrong filter. The neck of
the filter was suppose to fit aroung the intake
but instead it was so small it fit on the inside
loosly. I was so pissed off last night, I was in
my drive way in the dark taking it off and
putting my old air intake back on. Has anyone
else had this problem with the FIPK? Will K&N
send me the correct filter and nuts and bolts
that I should have recieved in the first place? I
called Summit and they wanted me to ship the
hole thing back to them, what a load of crap
this has turned out to be. I guess my box was
packed on Friday afternoon at K&N right
before people were getting ready to leave work
or something. Sorry for the rant just not to
happy about this. Besides the missing and
wrong parts it looks like it will be a great
system once I do get it on.

What a bummer.

I hate being in the middle of a project only to find I don't have the right (or all of the) parts.

K&N will provide you with the correct parts. Look on their web site and get customer service or tech contac telephone numbers. Call them and they will send you what you need.

It will be worth it when all the kinks are worked out.

Thanks for the replies. I'm glad to hear they
have good customer service. I just hope they
will go ahead and send out my parts and I will
send them the filter that was wrong. I am
getting ready to call them so I will post what
happens.

The box had been opened by Summit
because there reciept was in the box. I just got
off the phone with K&N and they told me to fax
over the reciept with the parts that were
missing or wrong and they will send the parts
out to me. I asked about sending the wrong
filter back and she said no, so I guess I will
have a filter for sale. I would consider that
some pretty good customer service, now I just
hope it doesnt take them to long to send the
new parts.
