 Subject: rear end problems

i need a new rear gears for my 00 3.9 4x4,it came from factory with 3.92,would it be cheaper to find a used rear axle from a bone yard or get new gears put in. ANY adice would be apreciated.

bone yards are usualy cheaper but as they say "you get what you pay for."

Is it a 9 1/4. I had a problem with mine and just swapped it. it ended up costing me abotu 600$ for a used 9 1/4 with 3 55 and LS. It only had 20 000 miles on it. Also it was a PITA to find. Most other places wanted 1-1200$.
Swapping gears is cheaper around 350$
