Subject: Universal ATF?

How effective is the polyo stock and detergent additives in the Universal Amsoil ATF? I might be buying a high millage family sedan and am worried about varnish in trany. I know that most polyo esters can remove most deposits in an engine in about 3000-7000 miles of use. I am also qurious about the amount of polyo stock in the new Amsoil Series 2000 fluids. I am just woundering if I should get the trany completly flushed with solvents or if I should just completely flush and fill with Amsoil ATF. I pureposely used Redline in my trany last time for this very reason since I was not flushing just replaceing what was drained out. but I am trying to make the switch to Amsoil products. The car is Buick Lasaber with the 3.8 and 4T60E transmission. It has 100,000 miles on it but the engine is in great shape and so is the rest of the car. I prefer to prevent any problems before they show up!!!
