So far I've only seen the photos in the 2003 sales brochure but I think that appearance package is really ugly. It might look better in person, but I doubt it. Too bad it is standard on the RT.

I saw one sitting on my dealers lot yesterday when I went in for service it looks like someone added ground efects to a two wheel drive truck and slapped on a stampede logo on the tailgate there is nothing special that I could see under the hood was a 4.7 with auto tranny and 3.55 gears.

2001 CC 4.7L 4X4 one day it will be an HO

Well the package is very light, I would guess it to be less than 30-40 lbs for all pieces combined.

As for the looks, well I love it but then again I am likely biased as I own it. Have had many people ask me what aftermarket body kit it is and they are really surprised to know it is the factory package.

Starting to see more and more "Stampede" trucks out on the street lately, guess it's catching on.

The Stampede kit is available on the 4.7L trucks as well - it's just standard on the late model 2003 R/T's.

As for its weight... 30lbs worth of urethane panels? You're really trying to stretch this "R/T's are slower than 4.7's" bit, aren't you?

Thank you SinCity R/T you took the words right out of my mouth. I see SOME of the 4.7 guys just can't realize this is a Dakota site and enjoy throwing out mindless jabs at fellow Dak (R/T) owners , well thats a little childish don't you think 00287RC,So why would you bother? Regarding the POST TOPIC I think that the effects are OK I myself just prefer to go without.I do have a question though for the stampede owners.. How durable are the effects ? are they cheap and flimzy ? Or do they seem pretty tough ? Just wondering how they will hold up after 5-10 yrs of cruizin' etc. Nice ride RTSpeeddemon !

I've seen the Stempede kit on every color available on my local 5* lot, but have yet to see one on the street. My first impression with the kit is the side skirts look really good, the front valance "add on" looks cheesy and the Street Scene or Stillen front bumper covers look better. The front peice is just an ad on bottom to the factory valance. Not a comlete bumper cover like the Stllen or SS. The rear peices behind the rear fenders look okay with a bumper, but don't think they would look as good if the truck has a roll pan. I haven't seen one with a roll pan to say for sure though. Also, the color of the truck makes a big difference. Persoanlly, the Stampede on a red truck looks nasty. Looks really good on white and silver. Black hides a lot of it, but still looks decent, and so so on the Atlantic Blue. I think it look better on the RCs than the CC trucks as well. If the price is right, I will put the side skirts on my '00 and will probably end up with the SS bumper cover.

As far as the Stampede front valance, all the ones I saw on the lat at my local 5* dealer were just the standard front valance with the effects added on to the bottom. Double sided tape across the front and screws in the fender well area. Unless they changed it since April.
