Subject: Problems to look for when buying?

I'm looking at a 1988 Dakota 4x4, 3.9L, automatic with 128,000 miles. Are there any common problems I should look for? It drives and rides pretty good but has a hesitation when accelerating. This seems very noticable at partial throttle. Thanks in advance.

Davy, IMHO, you would be crazy, for getting a v6 and a 4x4 to boot. They get pretty loszy MPG, unless serious mods, you won't like the performance. That hesitation when accellerating, is the V6!

Todd thanks for the input. I could tell that the performance was pretty weak. Its mostly just going to be a extra vehicle. For those times when we need to haul something or in case of extremely bad weather. But I'll keep what you said in mind. Thanks again.
