 Subject: Help please Gas tank question!

I was putting on my tool box when my idiotic friend drilled through and nailed my gas tank with a 1/2 bit, we got a rubber square put it over the whole and put Silicone all over it, the problem is, I know i got a tad in the gass tank :( :( will this hurt my gass tank or just sink to the bottom?? Please help me out.

The strainer screen at the bottom will keep that from going through the pump. No Worries.
