I've had the same trouble Taz5150 has since day1 on my 03'. I notice it more on damp days.
Keeping the rpms up helps. as well as double shifting.
I have driven sticks forever and this clutch sucks. Its moody as hell.
There is a recall for something to do with a clutch on 03's. A piece of plasic or something.
At only 13k mi the front shocks blew a load. (of oil) dealer replaced leaking front shocks under warrenty 1 week ago. 500 mi later...
Yup...WTF. They are going to do it again.
The AC doesnt seem cold anymore. (my first)

Take a hard look at your driving habits. My last car had 130K miles on the clutch before the throwout bearing began to bind up. That was only because my brother learned to drive a standard on it and smoked it badly (smoke came from under the hood). My current Daytona has 231K miles on original clutch - no slipping, turns the same RPMs as new.

On the other hand, my wife drove a standard for years and was popping the clutch to shut it off every time. She only got 11K miles out of a clutch, till I found out what she was doing and bought her an automatic. But her clutch exploded with a bang and disconnected the tranny from the engine.

I suspect you are driving it too hard.

My 1988 has 295,000 km on original clutch. Still work great. Driving habits make a difference.

I have a 2002 Dakota with more than 150K miles on
it, it's the 3.9 engine. I had the clutch system
replaced about 9 months ago including new master &
slave cylinders and refurbished flywheel. Since
this was done the clutch is very hard and it
engages real close to floorboard. I need to press
the pedal hard against the floor so it disengages
and I can shift gears. This makes it difficult to
drive at best. I took it to another mechanic, he
replaced the entire system but nothin changed.
Anyone had this problem? Any suggestions?
John

I have the exact same problem in my 2008 dakota.
The fork broke after 200K miles and I everything
replace and not it does the exact same thing you're
describing. Have you been able to find a solution?
