Hey Danny, i bought my dak down the road from you guys at fitz dodge on the pike. Not to say you guys were bad but i got a better deal. As for fitzgerald dodge there ok, service is good and there always friendly. A big complaint i have is the consumer tends to know more about the trucks than the employees which is frustrating. They look at you like "how did you know that and are you sure". P.s. i liked the hemi ram you guys had in the back :)

I and almost EVERY SINGLE person in my area who has delt with Kari Dodge (Kalispell, MT) hates them and think they are evil.

Dave Smith Motors (Kellog, ID) Fuking rules. Invoice + rebate only buying. No hassles, no haggling, good service. Kari hates Dave Smith. Dave Smitch knows Kari is evil cause their cusomers have told them so.

Dave Smith= great deals, but, how much to get there and the time? I paid more at Amador Motors in CA, but still got a good deal. Ask for Justin on the internet...I was very happy with sale. Tell Him I recommended, and He still owes me a "Dodge" hat!!

Whats funny, is that people always complain about the salesman not knowing jack squat about the trucks. But when it comes time to buy, no one seems to care. They just want to save $100 at another dealer after getting all the product knowledge from me.
I know the most BY FAR at my dealership, managers included, and not once has a customer said "I got this truck from you because you know what you're talking about". Number one factor is a good price, and be nice to the customer. Reality is, you don't have to know a thing to sell cars.

hi, i live in the southern oregon area, and i can say the best dealership around is lithia dodge and jeep in Grants Pass! I've done a lot of business with them and theres no pressure, and they always save me a ton of money. i bought a '02 dakota sport+ flame red,4x4,v6 auto, cc, power windows, over head computer, limited slip with 3.92's, premium sound, and with the line x spay on bed liner. they sold me this truck for $15,000!!!!!. if anyone in the southern oregon area is looking for a new dodge or jeep this is the place to go!

P.S. if you do go there for your new rig ask for Mike Dietz, he is great.

Thomas Dodge in Port Jefferson, NY(Long Island). Will never mess with those A holes again! We used E-loan to buy my truck and the made our lives a living hell as a result of it. The owner verbally abuses the employees too. Ended up with a decent deal(because we didn't let them add money when we financed, because we did it through someone else...lol). Took over a week to get the truck.

As for Smithtown Nissan where i bought my SE-R...they had an end of year sale and ended up giving me $13,000 trade in on my truck that was worth 11,500. some tricky numbers after that(not sure if we got the best deal we could). But we got the car within one day and the people were at least pleasant to deal with.(and they took old beaten up LI Blackdak off my hands...lol poor guy who buys that truck...) I hope he/she comes on this board so i can laugh and apologize for leaving the torsion bars uneven, the fact that it doesnt start right anymore, the 3 dents and numerous scratches, cracked windshield, anying exhaust, bad touch up paint, bent torsion beam(think that is what its called) from bottoming out on a curb, broken seat leaver, hole drilled in the bed to try to pop out a dent, botched exhuast connection, bald uneven tires...

Bought from Lawrence Marshall in Hempstead TX.-everything for invoice only.

When I have to, I take it to Allan Samuels Dodge in HOuston, it's on the way to work. They seem pretty good there, but didn't even try buying from them.

I ordered my QC SLT+ 4x4, from Burdick Dodge in Syracuse NY on Dec 31, 2002, so I won't see it for several weeks yet. It has every option except leather, since I prefer cloth in a truck. Burdick Dodge is an excellent dealership that treated me great. As a 51 yr old, thrifty, architect /engineer /systems analyst, I'm an informed and picky consumer when parting with lots of money. There are 4 Dodge dealers in the area and I went to each one.

The first place used a form to hand write the options, calc the total by hand, took off the rebate and their additional discount and handed me the figures. looking at the figures I realized that he had accidentally transposed one of the prices on the list, increasing the cost by about $75. I didn't mention it. As I started to want to negotiate he said, "well I've got to make some money". I said I would think about it, left, and never went back.

The next place just used a notepad to write down the figures from the pricing book, did all of the math by hand, and gave me a "rough" (non-commital)
estimate of the additional amount they were willing to come down from the starting price. So, once again - too vague and too unstructured an offer for my likes. I said I would think about it and he said, "Well I would really like to sell you a truck today". No thanks, I left and never went back.

At the third dealership they didn' know anything about the models or features of the trucks. I already knew more than they did just from my previous two experiences at the other dealerships, and from Edmunds. When I told them EXACTLY what I wanted, they kept showing me trucks that they found over the wire that were SIMILAR but not the truck with the features I specified. I said I'll think about it, left, and never went back.

When I visited Burdick Dodge I dealt with Tom Grimes, a retired math teacher who now sells cars. This was during Lunch on a Tuesday. He listened to me, he said that he didn't have what I wanted but could get any truck one way or another. When I asked about the "late availability" stereo I wanted he even looked in the Jeep ordering system to see if DC was releasing the radio in any vehicle yet. No talk of money. He was then the first person to offer a test drive. He let my wife and I take off in the truck by ourselves. First impressions of driving the Dakota were positive. Still no talk of money. I was on my lunch so I said I might be back to check out the Dakota further on a weekend when I have more time. He didn't work weekends but said I was welcome back.

When I came in on Saturday I was greetd by another salseman, Mark who said that Tom said that I might stop in. Mark let us test drive three different trucks. I settled on a QuadCab after riding a few miles in the back of a ClubCab and realizing that it was too tight for my purposes. No talk of money. I said, "By, I'll be back in touch."

I went on Monday evening and grilled Tom on the finer details of some of the options. He knew only so much about the AWD, so he took me to the service manager (who was on duty at 7:00pm) and the manager showed me a training CD on the AWD. Some things were still unclear for me, so the manager queried his contact database (I'm standing right next to him watching him do this) and he finds the phone number of a New Process Gear engineer who worked on the design of the AWD (the factory is here in Syracuse) and, as a customer, bought an AWD Dakota from Burdick a year before. The manager dialed this fellow at his home and put me on the phone. The engineer spent a good 15 minutes answering everyone of my questions and I was satisfied that I understood the AWD drivetrain. I then say, "What can you sell one of those to me for?" (remember, this would be a factory order so they will get to keep the entire 'holdback' of 3%). Tom printed a pricesheet from the online ordering system with both List and Invoice prices of all options. He took 1% off invoice and then applied the rebates. It was the best price I had seen, and all of the detailed costs were in the open. I said, "That looks pretty reasonable to me, but let me think about it." He gave me a copy of all the paperwork and said "OK let me know what you want to do when your ready." I went back on Wednesday (New Years Eve) and ordered the truck.

On Friday Jan 3rd I decided that I wanted to change the specs. Tom happened to be in when I called. I added 3.92 gears and steering wheel mounted stereo controls. He took the order, called me back an hour later, said the order was revised, and gave me a new total that added the two options at the 1% below invoice cost.

In summary, I used about five 0r six hours of their time, drove four of their vehicles, sat in two others, and tied their service manager up for about 40 minutes, all without promising them, or even talking about, money. I made them change the specs aftr placing the order and they took it in stride with a smile and a laugh.

I now wait for my truck, which I believe I will really enjoy ... But, if the level of service, patience, courtesy, and value remains this high then much of my being a satisfied Dodge customer will be due to the people at Burdick Dodge.

I know that these posts were meant to be short, but these events are very fresh in ,my mind (10 days ago), I was very impressd by this dealership and I wanted to share my experiences.
