I noticed a hard thump ssometimes on my "04 QC Dak. It has no change with the road surface, RPM's, or speed. It just goes thump in the front spontaneously. I can feel it in the floorboard and gas pedal. What the hell is that?!

I guess that's possible... I haven't done anything out of the ordinary with it yet. Do you think it's part of the front steering/suspension parts that are loose?

If the THUMP is felt best in steering you may be on to it > Just one of those things you need to hunt down

Have a 2004 quad cab. Its had that same clunk in the front end since I have taken it off the lot.The dodge dealership taught it was the torsion bar,so they greased it. It did NOT fix it! Back to the Garage again next week....

-within 100 miles new off lot, my new 04 clunked at 'parking lot manuevers'. Steering shaft replaced under warranty. There is a TSB out there for similar problems in which the steering column is repositioned.
