The recall letter is not needed by the dealership. The online DealerConnect system is all they need to verify it. If they tell you they MUST have the form or letter, find another dealership...they're not worth screwing with.

Jason B How will I be able to know if they actually replaced the ball joints with another
kind. Will they let me keep the old ones? Do you happen to know what the name of the manafacture
who revamped the new ball joints? My ball joints dont make any noise now so it will be kind of difficult to tell if they were replaced. know what I mean . thanks for taking time to answer my questions.

After the work is completed, look inside the front wheels on the top of the control arm nearest the wheel. You should see a shiny new ball joint instead of a discolored aged ball joint. I do not remember the name of the replacement manufacturer.
Will they let you keep the parts? Not sure, but I don't think DC is asking for the old parts to be returned for inspection. Individual dealership policy will apply.
You ask more questions than a quiz show. ;)

Dome of you with 03's may be disappointed!
Units manufactured after 12/31/2002 are not eligible for the recall / replacement joints.
