my dodge dak 94 wont accelerate and dies changed coil,dist cap and rotor,new wires,and still wont run what is the problem had cat convert checked but still wont run and is back firing please help

You replaced the distributer and it is backfiring? Are you sure you got the cylinders TDC before you replaced the rotor and that you had the distin the correct position when isntalled? If that wasn't done that would definately cause backfires. If your changes out the cats, headers, and or muffler to a dual cat, you may not have enough backpressure causing backfiring. How about your Evap Canistor and EGR selenoid valve? Does it work with the EVap system shut off(you have to clamp off some hoses)? Any of the above could be a cause.

insufficient back pressure DOES NOT CAUSE A BACKFIRE! NOR WILL A BAD EVAP CANISTER CAUSE STALLING AND BACK FIRE all it will cause is a MIL. the first place to look is the tbs as sometimes they go bad and do not throw a code but will cause her exact symtom. the back fire the way she explaines it with the stalling might be terrible bad timing.
