I have a 2001 quad cab 4X4 and when looking at it from the back, the passenger side looked to be lower. When I measured it with a tape, I found that the truck is sitting a couple of inches lower in the rear on that side. It does not seem to be a problem in the front end. Has anyone else noticed this?

they bought trucks with twisted frames!!!!!
actually ALL welded assemblies, like your truck's framw my twist with age. Since you have the torsion bar suspension this is easier to fix then springs at all four corners. The fact of the matter is, when one corner of the truck is lower then other "at the same end" the problem is actually the opposit corner, even though a tape measure test might suggest different. Seee chart below.

1---------2

truck

3---------4
if corner 3 is low and corner 4 is "normal" you need to actually lower corner 2.
if corner 3 is high and corner 4 is normal you ned to raise corner 2
4 low and 3 normal lower 1
4 high and 3 normal raise 1
this causes what is known as a canitlever effect where changing the hieght of one corner changes in the opposit direction, the hieght of the opposite corner, diagonaly across the vehicle, a few years back called "MOOPAR OVAL TRACK MODIFICATIONS" part number P5249959 available at your local Mopar dealer explained all this in great detail. Even though you have a truck with torsion bar front suspension, the book does a good job of covering this as the 60's and 70's cars all had torsion bar suspension. and since they are almost identicle, so is the way to alter it.
