Can I venture a guess and say you have a manual shift?

Lets all put our right index fingers to our pursed lips and say,"release bearing...it's the fcuking release bearing"

Sorry Doc, it's an auto. I know a throwout bearing rattle when I hear it. I had a bad one when I bought my new '91 5.0 Mustang LX (best, coolest car I ever had). I also replaced entire clutch kit in my VW sandrail when it exploded. I had the 5 spd. 'Stang and a stick shift F150 for winter at the same time, so I wanted an auto for daily driver in the Dak for a change. Ten years ago, I also restored the rolling chassis of my '70 Challenger R/T 440 Sixpack, so I didn't exactly just fall off the 'tater truck, as you implied. After browsing the other posts from more enlightened people, I'm going out to the garage to smack exaust components with a rubber mallet. Feel free to bill my HMO for your services tho', Doctor Smartass.
