Help! I have a 1998 dodge dakota v8 318 4x4 CC
My interior dome light is stuck on, the only thing i can do to turn it off is pull the fuse (which kills radio too)
ive removed headlight switch,pulled battry terminals for about 5 mins, checked the alarm connections and even disabled by pulling fuse....i cant seem to figure it out
Also i wanted to check the dorrjamb pins but cant seem to get at them when i remove the kick plate, theres plastic underneath, but the pin itself looks like it might be able to come out of its plastic ring..any ideas how to remove this?
And has anyone else encountered this problem?

i replaced them both yesterday with brand new ones from the dealer...and it still wont turn the light off

Might sound stupid...but are you sure it isn't turned on either at the dash switch or by pushing in on the lens? That's how you turn mine on in my '01 CC from the back seat. Just give it a push up to turn it on or off. Clicks in and out.

i dunno..it seems to have corrected itself now...weird eh? it wasnt the switches cause it kept doing it, but now its back to normal...i think this is going to be intermittent until i find the problem

My 94 3.9 slt dome light only turns on when I open the doors. The switch does not turn the dome light on... Any ideas???

I've tried that many many many times, after i got a new headlight switch (my low beams mysteriously stopped working), I expected it to work then, but of course it didn't.

I have the same prob with my headlights...my low beams don't work. Two months ago, the switch burned up...smelled like resisters burning...and the low beams went out. I had to drive for two hours holding the hi-beams on. Yesterday, the low beams faild again, this time without the smelly warning. I hate to take apart the dash again! Besides, I don't know what I need to do about it. It must be "shorting" causing the switch to burn? HELP!

What kind of headlights do you have? My friend had those cheapo wanna be HID lights and he was having the same kind of problem. So he tried switching back to the standard headlights and now it works fine. Just a suggestion.
