I got stranded this past weekend about 150 miles from home because of problems with my 98 Dak running.
My initial thread is here incase anyone is intrested in knowing my symptoms.

It turns out that it was the CAT causing the problems. It had been making a rattle noise for a while but I just never got around to making it to get it fixed. Thanks to this thread I know of the federal warrenty. :)

In Georgia there is an eight-year 80,000 mile warranty that covers the major emissions components on the vehicle and the system itself, the computer that drives that, as well as the catalytic converter. My 1997 Dakota only has 50,000 miles on it and is on it's 3rd free catalytic converter. Each one rattled and was replaced by the dealer without comment.

I have dodge ram 1500 sport will dodge replaced my catalytic coverter with 102,000 miles.will dodge replaced it free?
