 Subject: rattle / leaky intake

I bought a '99 dakota v8 4 months ago been having a rattle so I went to dodge the tech and I go for a ride the guy tells me that it could be a valve guide or lifter or some crap but not to worry "nature of the beast" he says. Been using oil too he says could be from rattle get back and he looks through the throttle body and the intake has oil in it now I have a $1000 lower gasket to change all this with 49,500 miles owned alot of vehicles even some real p.o.s but never had a intake gasket go also did a u joint 2 weeks after I bought it Hopefully this truck will make it one more year than its gone
