 Subject: 01 auto trans. clunking as you drive

My 01 QUad 4/7 4spd auto clunks as it shifts when cold. Starts out ok, shift 2nd ok, then clunks into 3rd. Mostly if i am just cruising kinda slow through a parking lot just barely giving the gas. Any thoughts?
