Subject: Dealers are unbelievable...question?

Have a simple question wondering if you guys would now. Have a 2000 4.7 4X4 full time, 31X10.5 tires on it, my dealer tells me there is a "30,000 mile service" for my truck and he attaches the description to my receipt. I take a look at it and it's like $500 worth of s$%*t. Ever see those Schedule A and Schedule B maintenance sheets for the DAKS? Well, B is like for trucks that tow, haul, off road, idle for long times in traffic, etc. Extreme driving. Well, my truck gets opposite treatment. I'm on the A schedule. At 30,000 miles the manual only says to change the rear diff fluid. Should I change the front diff, transfer case AND front diff all at the same time? Also, it says to do spark plugs, what do you think? This is my first new truck, want to keep it in good shape but I know the dealer likes you to get service you don't need. Help is appreciated.

I only have a 2000 v6 but I`d say you can`t go wrong if you change all the fluids at the same time. It will be easer to remember when you keep a record of the last time you did it. I`D rather change my oils & fluids a little bit before there recommend change. I`ve been doing this for years and have never had a blown engine or had any tranny problems nor rear ends.As far as spark plugs if you feel its not running good change them for what they cost its worth it. Especially if it has champion spark plugs I like AC myself. It pays off in the end to do the little extras if you plan to keep your truck for a few years ! Hope this helps a little.

At times like this, I thank God that my fiancee's father a) is a corvette dealer and b) knows how to do all this stuff. We've done all the stuff on my truck together; we are fixing to replace the bushings with poly bushings, and add front/rear stabilizer bars.

Current mods: A MUFFLER. That's it. (For now.)
Future mods: Tonneau cover
Underdrive pulleys
Removal of clutch fan
K&N FIPK
17" rims
V8 TB
Weatherflectors
Anti-sway bar
and much, much more....

nothing wrong with a little preventative maintinance! what if your independent local yocal told you about that? all that info is in the owners manual! would he be a crook too??? thats why i'm selling parts now instead of fixing cars! got tired of being called a crook because i mentioned the maintinance scedule to my customers! still is cheaper to do a little mantinance that replace hard parts!!! like the old Fram comertial.... PAY ME NOW, OR PAY ME LATER! its your truck, do what you want. sorry for getting fussy, the B scedule is just a more thorogh scedule.
