My 98 Dak's steering column pops when I turn. Anyone else have this problem and if so what can I do to fix it?

I've got a 2000 that did the same thing. I took it to the dealer and they found a bolt rbbung the tortion bar. They replaced several parts including the tortion bar, all warranty. I don't know if a bolt was put in backwards or what but they handled it all no questions asked.

Well, my truck has 70,000 on i of last night. It din't start doing it until maybe 55,000. Anyone know if there is a recall?

I have had this problem on my 2000 dakota, it was the steering binder, it was under warranty thank god. Might want to have the dealer check it out.

LOL, Over a year and a half later someone drug this thread up from the grave. I sold ther truck last May, so now it's no worry.
