My 2001 qc is now having problems with the radio and the turn signals. Sometimes they work and sometimes they dont. getting worse, If the radio decides to come on and start working sometimes you use the turn signal and they both stop working. Checked all fuses and even the ones under the hood they all are ok. Farking frustrating. any idea's?

Took to dealer today they claim it is the ignition switch and it will be three days till the part comes in and my truck is in pieces till then. AAAAAARRRRRRGGGG, don't see how the ignition switch would be the problem it acted more like a short somewhere, guess i'll see.

I have a 1994 Dakota that is doing the same thing, but only with the radio.
It started out just once and awhile, but now once it goes out it takes 50 on/off cycles before I can get the radio back on.

It drives me crazy.
Let me know if the new ignition switch fixes it.

I have a 2001 Dakota Sport, and it's doing the same thing!!!!! Evidently this is very common among these trucks. I guess I'll be getting another ignition switch too.

I was having the same problem when using the tiltwheel, the dealer has had my steering column apart several times to reconnect the wiring harness that goes to the ignition switch because it wasn't locking together. My radio, backup lights, speedo and few other things would not work because they all run through the ignition harness.

The dealer told me I was going to need a new wiring harness so they ordered it and when I went in to have it installed they just said it was fixed without needing a new harness. I could feel something binding when using the tilt wheel before, they must have finally re-routed the harness or something since they didn't replace anything and the tilt moves freely now.

My radio turns off when it gets hot in the cab. Some days it takes a few minutes and some days it takes seconds. Living in Florida, it gets hot inside. Anyone know a fix?

I am having the same problem with my radio. It has seemed to be when it is hot that it does not work but I am not sure with this. One time the ignition was shorting some, but only once. Other then that the radio has a mind of its own. Turns on when it wants, plays a cassette when it wants and everything not consistent. It is driving my crazy. I love my music. If anyone could help I would appreciate it.

I finally fixed my problem-see message in 2002. I tried to sell the sucker before anything more went wrong (too late-the abs sensor went out -- the wanted $350 to replace a $25 part). I bought a full size Toyota and have been happy ever since.

My 2001 Quad Dakota would start without the radio and turn signals working. I would re-start it and they were always working again. Finally I was waiting for someone with the engine running listening to the radio when I put my hand on the key and the radio stopped. I moved the key more toward the on position and both the radio and turn signals worked. I haven't replaced the switch I just move the key if the radio isn't working. Good luck with a cheap fix.
