I just bought a 2000 4x4 4.7 auto Slt extended cab. It has 40,000 on it. Runs well, idle jumps up and down 50 rpms or so. Love it so far but the front end has some issues ball joints or tierod ends I think. What else do I need to watch for?

There is a recall on 4x4 Dakotas built between July 1999 and January 2001 involving the transfer case popping out of gear (into neutral)when in 4wd Lo. Check your driver's door for date of manufacture. Chrysler recall # 975. Ph 1-800-853-1403 if your involved.
