I have had 4 dodge trucks. 87 dakota 3.9 250,000 miles (clunked), 97 ram 4x4 110,000 (clunked), 98 dakota sport 3.9 117,000 miles (no clunk), 98 dakota RT 28,000 miles no clunk.

I wouldnt worry about the clunk. It gets annoying but its just one of those defects.
