i am currently instally a polk ex component 6.5 in the doors and mounting the tweeter somewhere on the door panel.removed door panels,no big deal.the factory speaker has bracket it sets in,when you put the polk in the door it has some space,it will bolt up and all but it is not a good fit.what have some of you guys come up with to make it a clean ,set up getting the best sound?
i figured some of that insulation to go behind it to help the sound quality.i can ,and have access to fabricate things if needed.i figure i will put the crossovers in the kick panel.i am poering them with a 4202 mtx.i have mtx three ways with 8" woofers powered by another mtx 4202,in the rear.it should sound good?(for the front)any advice to make it a great set up the first time will be appreciated.

thanks,

I flush mounted my tweets (RF Fanatic Q components) right on the sail pannel, probably best position for them. As for the woofer, I drilled new holes to match my woofer, and sealed around the woofer with silicon goop to eliminate any possible rattle over time. I'm powering it with an MTX 4244 (4 channel, rears on the other channels) and it sounds fantastic. I get good clean bass (without subs on) out of the components without any insulation behind them.

thanks!the sail panel on the drivers side has a raised area for the lever to move the mirror.it
must be an option.it has a small round cap on the hole.thought about that but the left and right would not look the same.
one more question.i have some 5 1/4 2 way polks, could i run them off the factory power to the front?with the mtx and the components on the front also?like split the input?these 5 1/4 are new and did not sell, thought i might use them.

Are you running your MTX amp off the factory head with the speaker level inputs?? Do you want to put the 5 1/4's in a "front" location also? If so, and if you can find a place to put both your components and your 5 1/4's then sure, you can split the output of the factory head to the amp inputs and the 5 1/4's. The amp puts very little load on the output of the head unit, so hooking speakers up also should work fine. The only problem you may have is balancing volume between components and the 5.25's, but you can mess with the gains of the amp for that I guess.
