Subject: Will these speakers fit???
IP: Logged

Message:
Hey, I have a set of Pioneer 6 1/2" 2 ways and a set of Sony Xplode 6 1/2" 3 ways that i have laying around my house and was wondering if anyone could tell me if they will fit my 2000 Club Cab Dakota?.... I would go out and try it, but this will save me the hassle of un-clipping my interior and all that mess.

ANY HELP is Appreciated!

Reker, try looking up the model number in a Crutchfield catalog and see if the dimensions are right. Or maybe you can find the same speakers on their website.

Your Dakota has 6 3/4" speakers in both locations. The 6.5's will probably fit with a minor modification. I suggest trying it.

Well last week I was going to put them into the Ext Cab of the truck and when i went to put the 6.5 in, it almost fell throug the hole. To me it looks like u can fit an 8 inch woofer in the hole. But what im thinking is, is since the rear speakers only use 3 screws to be held in place, is that its a bracket that u may need to mount it with. I havent tried the door speakers yet... maybe this week sometime.

thanks for the responses fellas.... some more help from someone who has updated their speakers would be nice also!.. anyone??

I replaced all my speakers the other week and used 6 1/2's instead of the 6 3/4's. You would THINK the holes would be just a little off and only a little minor modification would have to be done. But like you said, the holes are HUGE !!! When I bought my rear speakers, they came with plastic adapters to change the hole patterns. The only thing is, they didn't fit my new speakers (the hole patterns were right, but my speaker was too big around). So you may want to check a few car stereo places to see if they have adapters. Just make sure they fit your new speakers. I ended up CNC punching new adapters out of alluminum at work and they worked great.

Let me know if this helps :)

phatdak02... what about the door speakers??... do u need an adapter for those or will the 6 1/2s bolt right in???.... As for my rear speakers, i saw those new pioneers that come with the adapter. I think i will end up buying those.

thanks for ur help
