Hello all, I got a ? that no one has been able to help me with. I got a 01 club cab with a sony preamp head unit running to a PPI 2 channel amp (200x2) and a kicker full range speaker box ( 2-12's) In the morning everything sounds fine but later in the day or after work when I turn on the stereo it sounds very bassy, I tried a different amp same thing (alpine 150x2). The thing that gets me is I had the EXACT system in my 87 nissan extra cab and never had this problem. Both trucks have tinted windows (20%), the nissan had an aftermarket alternator 160 amp dual output external voltage regulator while the dakota alt is stock, not sure if that could make a difference. And of course the dakota has a bigger interior but other than those 2 differences everything else is the same. I live in central florida and of course it's very hot right now. Anyone have any ideas? I know I should try a different head unit but I don't have access to one. Thanks for any suggestions on this

When youtr truck sits in the heat, everthing gets more flexible...body, glass, etc. This causes the bass to sounds better in the vehicle. I have noticed that in most of my stereos myself. I have also hit lower SPL's in the heat since my vehicle was flexing too much.

Sorry I shouldn't have used the word s "more bassy" what it really sounds like is very muddy almost like you can't make out what is on. Remember what I asked, why is it doing this in my dakota but it never did it in the nissan? that's what has be crazy. Thanks anyway for your reply,
