Can someone tell me how to access the speakers in my 02 cc dak. I want to replace the front and rears. Don't have infinity system just stock one that comes on the slt. What are some good speakers to put in and what prices am I looking at? I really want to keep the stock head unit but want a good sounding system. Is this possible? Thanks, any help would be appreciated.

For the front set, you have to pop off the inside of your doors. Don't know about the rears- I have a quad. You can get good sound from hooking the stock deck up to an amp, but you might as well pay 200-300 bucks for a decent deck. You will enjoy the difference, and aftermarket decks are pretty cheap now. You can get a good Kenwood, or even a lower model Alpine (still better than your Sonys, Kenwoods, Pioneers, etc.) for about $250. Just keep in mind that those decks that say 40+ watts per channel are only putting out about 15-18. You really should add an amplifier if you want to put good speakers in.

As far as speakers, I am fond of components. I put in two sets of Polk Audio in my QC. You may have to put 5x7's or something in the rear. I had good luck with Cerwin Vega for those. For components, a good set will cost $200-$400. You can do non-components for $100-$200. They won't sound quite as good when you turn up the volume because they don't have passive crossovers to block the low bass. Sony, Pioneer, and Kenwood are all okay brands to use for speakers. They are pretty inexpensive, but they still sound pretty good.

Hope this helps!

For the rear speaker access, (if like my 99 cc) unbolt the seat belt up top and then at the bottom where the seat belt winds up, put your hand in there and and pry the plastic away from the truck body..Its held on by the plastic inserts but they will come off with a bit of force..Below the rear window, that panel will pop off the same way and then you will see two phillips screws there(they attach to the side wall pieces)..Take them out and you are done.

The speakers should be held on with 2 or 3 screws.

Just like Vince said, decks are half cheap now, spend the extra cash and get a amp or two and it will sound great.
