Subject: Best mp3 player?
IP: Logged

Message:
What's the best mp3 player on the market right now? I think I'm going to end up making a custom plate so that it actually fits our screwy speaker hole but eh I need to find a good mp3 player first. Any ideas?

Ian - Thank you...

Gigantor - Stock.. what you do is go down to auto zone. Get some of the chrome door guards (the stuff that is normally used to put on the edges of the doors) then just cut it to fit.

I've found that the Kenwood Excelon mp3 players are the best. My friend and I both have owned both Alpine as well as Kenwood Mp3 Receivers. I owned the Kenwood Z919 and Z828 as well as the Alpine CDA7894. The Alpine radio created several glitches in the mp3s when played where as the Kenwood did not. I think since the Kenwood stereos have one generation more than the Alpine's they are better units for the purpose of Mp3s. After I purchased the CDA7894 I returned it to Circuit City to get the Kenwood.

Plan is to get a Kenwood KDC-MP919...
Just curious if there's a way to make/get a adapter that fits the hole in our dash correctly. Or if I'm going to end up getting one of those onesize fits all adapters. I'd like something flush w/ the current dash instead of set back.

XM or Sirius?

I've narrowed it to.. Or widened it rather to 3 options

Kenwood KDC-MP919
Sony CDX-MP70
Pioneer DEH-P8400MP

Does anyone have anything to say about Sony?

out of those 3 i would go with the pioneer.
i worked at best buy for 6 years and am an electronics freak and love pioneer decks. plus the 2 stage fold down is SWEET!!! heh heh

both xm and cirrus are awesome if you drive alot or don't like your local stations. fortunately in san antonio, we have good radio stations. xm is cheaper though.

i am going to best buy to check the mp3 capabilities of the pioneer and maybe the sony deck. will post my results.

I've found it new for $270+shipping.. It'd take me a few weeks to get the $$.. But let me know.

Alpine is what i run. Alpine is what i think is best. You just need to go to a audio store and set up and system that you like and switch around headunits till you find what you like.

I agree that the Rockford is ok for the price. But they dont by far blow competition away. Rockford you get a lot of bang for the buck, but not the best there is.
