 Subject: 01 Dak stereo removal

Dumb question:
How do you get the factory stereo out of a 01 Dak? By looking at it I am affraid half of the dash has to be removed to get it out. Any help would be great, my clarion head unit is dying to go in.

all u have to do is pull off the front dash. its held on by metal clips. start on the left side and work your way over. I think Intense Chuck has more detailed instructions.

Gentleman - thanks for the link, that helps alot. I'm going to switch out the factory unit for my Clarion this weekend I think, I just need the necessary wiring harness and brackets. They sure do not make this easy do they?

Any chance you have a cd player on the stock reciever that you took out and want to sell it? I just got a 2002 truck that only has the cassette player.
