OK, so my Sony isn't crap... It turns out that only the FM and AM on ANY after market CD player works... I bought a NEW CD player yesterday and installed it... the FM worked... but when playing a CD no sounds came out... that was why I bought a new one, I thought my old one was broken and it is not (i tested it with bare wires to the battery and a small speaker).
My question is... Is there a reason that a CD player AND CD changer would not put out sound with the infinity system (amp?)? Has anyone had this issue before? The cd plays, just no sound comes out!
Please help... I havn't seen this before!

You are hooking up the wrong wire for the turn-on wire for the amp. With an aftermarket radio, there will be an antenna turn-on lead and a remote turn-on lead. The antenna lead will only work when you are using the radio since it needs to make a power antenna on cars equipped with them raise up. Whe you switch to CD, the power antenna lead is turned off which normally lowers the antenna, but in your case is turning off the factory amp. Try using the remote turn-on lead instead of the power antenna lead.

That has to be it... I got the wires from Circuit city and it was all connectors, so i didn't even think to question the positions of the wires... THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
