 Subject: How do I install my neon light? HELP!!

I have a neon light that has a cigarrete adaptor on the end of it. I want to cut the adaptor off and wire it to my truck... How do i go about wiring it to my truck? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

Cut off the adapter and grab some 16g or 18g wire. Look at the neon packaging to see which wire is negative. Run this wire (with the new wire if you need more length) to a grounding location.
Run the positive wire to a switch and then to a power source. Be sure to follow the diagram on the switch package for which posts to use.

ok i want to wire a few neons in my car...but i want to wire them to their own battery..here my thoughts on what i want to do.. get a cheap battery somehting like a motorcycle battery then hook up 5-6 neon lights in different locations and have a switch to turn them on/off when wanted..and i don't know how to do this. would i need in line fuses? and what else would i need to do this?? any help please i was hopin to do this this weekend

There is not rly a need to get a whole new battery for them.
there are not going to be drawing that much current and you would have to hook it up to your regular battery so i find doing that pretty uneccessary
but hey that would be cool i guess

ok there is no wiring diagram with my LED kit. so i need to know which part of the cig lighter is the positive and which is the ground. the end vs. the sides. please post a responce. thanks

the end of the light adapter is power(positive) and the sides are the ground(negative)

now the switch has a positive and a negative. i take the neg from the light to a grounging spot. and take the postive(from the light) to the switch and the positive from the switch to the battery? am i getting this right.
