Subject: Front Speaker wires, 01, infintiy...
IP: Logged

Message:
I'm changing out the front speaks (lower 6.5in) on my 01 QC, and need to know which is + and -.

the two wires are green, one with a dark stripe, one with a green stripe. I'd think the green stripe was +?

And what's this about an amp on the speaker? Is that just the rears on the infinity?

Gasket was ripped to hell on the speaker cone.
sounded like poop.
TIA

i have an 01 RC w/ infinity system...i am replacing the HU w/ a Kenwood ez-500...was looking into replacing the speakers too so i took off my door panel and looks like both speakers in door are infinity...checked the back speakers and they are stock...which leads me to believe just the front speakers are hooked up to infinity amp.

All the Infinity speakers look like stock crap.. all of mine did . Be carefull about connecting aftermarket speakers the the infinity amp.. I was told that it runs at 2Ohm and connecting a set of 4 OR 8 Ohm speakers could blow it. But I was also told it wont.. so decided to buy a new amp for my new speakers to bypass that problem.....
