Upper front part of the door panel. The little triangle in front of the door windows. If you remove the door panel, it's even marked for the required hole.

It's all trade-offs and compromises...

The theory is to place the tweets and mids close together such that the sound waves arrive at the ear at the same time.

Reality bites here though as that would mean placing the tweets low with the mid/bass driver, or place the mid/bass up high with the tweet. Since a high mid/bass mount is not such an easy task, the easiest alternative is to place the mid/bass low, and the tweet high (closer to the ear).

If I had the incentive, or time, or new truck,,,, I would consider placing the tweets in the dash, reflecting off the windshield, instead of in the door's sail panel. But,,, too much work, and the holes in the sail panels are already cut.

I have also heard of other's placing the tweets in the roof panels.

Another benefit to the stock locations is that I use the stock speaker wiring.
