For a 2002 or later head unit to work in a 2001 or earlier vehicle you will need a 22 pin - to - 2x7 pin adapter.
Check out this eBay auction - 8030051895. I know it's over, but this is what you need to find.

Hey Steven. I haven't put it on yet. I want to get the front bumper and fascia (I have bought) painted to match before I swap the parts. After thinking about it a while I thought it might look stupid to change the rear bumper while the front was still SLT stock.
But, as I eMailed you after receiving it I was thoroughly pleased with the condition and packing of the bumper. I'll send you photos (and post them here) after I do the change.
