I replaced the stock head unit with a Pioneer. replaced all stock speakers also. Ran into problem with no sound also, then I remembered about the infinity amp, wired up and no problems. Also had replacement speakers with stock head and had no problem with sound. But does anyone know where the stock amp is located.

Yeah. Thats where they are. If you play with your amp alot, your better putting the after market one under the seat. I've got my amp for the subs under the drivers seat and the amp for the main speakers under the passanger seat. Works for me, and I can easily access the settings on the amp

I'm trying to figure out if the single purple wire with a yellow stripe is from the factory amp. I have no sound and I don't know where to hook that wire up to. 2001 dakota with kenwood cd player

apparently the purple with yellow stripe is for the PCI BUS, but Im not sure you need to connect that if you are not using the factory radio. However if you do not have sound, are you using a set of adapters for the grey and black plugs. If you are, just connect the amplifier output for your kenwood to the one marked amplifer on the adapter and it should work.

Some of the harness adapters can be misleading. Had to check the actual wiring pinouts on mine. The adapter was labelled for a Power Antenna but in this case it is used to hook up to the AMP wire (Remote Power) on aftermarket head unit.
